Alebrijes Taqueria

Have had this place on my radar for a couple of months, wary that many Mexican street food places here don't get it quite right. Well I can now rest easy because I have found the most authentic Mexican street food in Houston, and this is probably the best Mexican food in Houston period. This is not tex-mex and this is not a forward modern take on Mexican dishes. This is the place Bourdain would visit - this is the real deal.

Took hubby for lunch today. We sat at picnic table under the food truck shelter on a beautiful day. Decorated with funky, fun nicknacks complete with a 10 foot growling werewolf! I had the carnitas tostadas. Best ever, loaded with tender meat, topped with fresh veggies, avo and crema. The floor under our table was a mess! Hubby had a cheesy quesadilla plate with rice and charro beans. Very tasty and large portions too. The word must be out cause there was a continuous stream of customers getting togo. And yes, the Patriot is right, watch out for Clear Lake Shores finest. My teenage daughter has gotten 2 tix there, but she's a lead foot lol. We will be back to support our local food truck, you should too!

If you like yummy hot food this is definitely a good place for you to try. Don't get to excited though and eat your food real fast because it's definitely hot and fresh. I learned that the hard way.

Best birria tacos in the area! They have the cutest food truck with outdoor seating and a pretty large menu for a taco truck. The birria tacos were amazing! You get your chance of flour or corn tortillas and they were filled to the brim with meat and onions. The consome was equally delicious as well as the complimentary charro beans. The bottled coke was a nice touch. Cindy was super sweet to my son and very friendly. Will definitely be back!

Excellent food and vibes! They cook all the food here fresh from scratch. BYOB and my friends and I love to sit down and drink beer and hang out and eat some good authentic Mexican food. Hand washing stations, shaded places to sit with fans, and they even have Mexican coke and other sodas. Serving sizes are big! Highly recommend.

Great first time experience. Taco food truck. Food was delicious!The beans were delicious. I had the tostados with fajita beef and chicken: portions were great , flavors were on point, definitely hit the spot! My husband got the beef fajita tacos and he said they were fantastic. We also got the birria tacos, which were awesome. Salsa is spicy- which I appreciate. Everything was awesome. The gentleman that served us did fantastic at making sure everything came out hot and perfect timing- considering we came at dinner rush- he was the only one working and handled everyone’s order great. Only recommendation is to cut the salt down 1/4- my plate was a bit salty. Definitely will be our neighborhood taco stop from now on.

The decorations here were so cool. I loved the painted dinosaurs and the lights. They have covered dining and seating in the outdoor dining area. A real local gem. Make sure you watch out for Clear Lake Shores Police when passing through to visit this restaurant. They love to give out big tickets around this area. I watched them one day giving out ticket after ticket to people driving down Marina Bay Drive. This is a very rich area. They ticket indiscriminately. I hope you enjoy your visit to the restaurant as much as I did.

This is hands down some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Everything is homemade. The flavors are bold and balanced. Portion sizes were beyond enough and my boyfriend and I were fully and happy. If you’re ever around Kemah this is the spot.
